I apologize for being away from the bog for so long, but I really did have good intentions of posting pictures of the fifth graders to my blog. I misplaced the memory card from my camera somewhere, so therefore no pictures. I will give you a few short notes to catch you up on some important information.

Yearbooks must be purchased separately from pictures this year. Orders may be sent in now until November 19th. Your student has been given an order form.

Field trip to Detroit Science Museum Monday, November 23. Lunches should be brown bagged with disposable drink containers. Dress code is jeans with gym T-shirt. Parents chaperoning the field trip are as follows: Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Compton, Mr. Carauna, Mrs. Golematis, Mrs. Lozon, and Mrs. Martin.

Thank you to the parents who who came in and helped out with our Halloween party and to those who sent in ice cream or other supplies for our sundaes. The students did enjoy them.

The students wrote, directed and acted out a Halloween skit all by themselves. They are truly

a gifted group of young people. I was amazed at how well they did. I only gave help when someone asked me. I was impressed with their creativity and spirit of independence.

I think we have a schedule of our specials that is now safe to be posted. It is as follow:

Monday Art 2:20- 3:05

Tuesday Computers 12:05 - 1:50

Wednesday Spanish 8:20 - 8:50

Music 2:20 - 3:05

Thursday Library 12:50 - 1:30

Friday Gym 12:05 - 12:50 Gym clothes, please!

I hope i did not inconvenience anyone too much by waiting until now to post these items but things seem to be changing on a daily basis due to the switching in the middle school.

We also eat our lunch at 11:30 a.m. with recess at 11:10 for those of you who drop a hot lunch off to your child.

I believe the fifth graders have adapted well to the change in their place in the building. they like the switching rooms for so many classes. The lockers have been a great surprise for them. The hardest part is remembering to get everything they need in the morning or at lunch . It makes them be more responsible for their own belongings and work because they're not allowed a lot of extra trips back to their locker by any of the teachers.
